content: comic strip and welcome to this unit
teaching aims:
1. to use the comic strip to introduce the function of giving instructions---‘ bring me…’ and ‘should’.
2. to introduce students to the world of pets
3. to identify names of animals and typical features
4. to understand differences in animal features
5. to educate students that most animals are our friends
language focus: bring me my lunch/be more polite/get a new e-dog./you should say…/you ought to be…take care of/learn more about different pets watch it swim around/sleep on the lap /feed carrots/ hold
