the first period
1．热身 / 复习（warming-up / revision）
1）播放英文歌曲old macdonald had a farm 的录音磁带。
2）让学生齐唱这首歌曲，想象歌曲中所描述的情景。
2．新课导入（presentation）
1）教师展示本课的教学挂图，让学生观察。
2）教师指着挂图，让学生了解会话的情景及会话的主要内容。以下是供教师参考的教学语言。（学生回答略）
who's the boy?
who's the girl?
where are they?
what are they doing?
they are talking．
can you guess what they are talking about?
yes, they are talking about the animals．
3）引导学生观察图中的动物，向学生提出问题。
there are some animals in the picture．
what animals can you see in the picture?
4）对于学生所说出的horse 或little horse, small horse, cow或little cow, small cow等给予鼓励。随后提出问题：“英语中的小马、小牛有专门的说法，你们知道吗？”播放录音，让学生带着问题听后回答问题。可以根据实际情况多播放几遍录音。
5）听完录音后，教师分别指着挂图中的小牛和小马，让学生回答如下问题：
